The Chess Computer

Chess is a teaching technology, one thousand years old. Attempts to harness this technology stumble over the complexity of the many interactions in the game.

This website shows those interactions and a further technological bonus from this ancient endeavor.

The heart of the invention is a programmable sixty four cell grid: a digital screen showing combined data and patterns, in this case - chess.

Underlying the chessboard is a parallel processor, reacting to changing game conditions. Digital snapshots of these interactions, stored in digital file cabinets, yield AI (artificial intelligence) invisible chess friend, always ready to play.

The chess processor grid is a data dump, with unlimited inputs and outputs, programmable to serve the needs of the modern computer programmer. The year is 1973.
